演講大綱：
In the chapter Uji 「有時」of his best-known work Treasury of the True Dharma Eye 正法眼蔵, Zen Master Dōgen (1200–1253) explains how “time” is an existential condition enabling salvation. Because of its title, the chapter has often been associated with Heidegger's seminal work Being and Time, and has occupied an extremely important position in comparative philosophy since the early Showa period. However, this meant that the text came to be read as a “philosophy of time,” and its content became significantly detached from the context of monastic life. In my presentation, I propose in contrast to read Uji precisely from that context, as an elucidation of Dōgen’s idea of the “unity of practice and realization” 修証一等。I explain how this unity was meant to be lived in Dōgen’s monasteries, and how this practice connects to key concepts such as “transiting through phases” 經歷 or “lining up in order” 配列 Dōgen puts forth in Uji.
